5th graders have been working on the concepts of perimeter and area. Besides, they had an information about the law which says the squared metres (m2) that spaces should have in a school. So that, pupils decided to check if our new building comply with the law. Here are some pictures about the process:
4th graders did a project about the shape of the buildings around Can Fabra School. The pupils placed Can Fabra at google maps and looked for 5 buildings around the school, they thought possible 3D shapes for each building and built them using 3D shape nets. Here are some photos about the process:

During the second term 1st graders have been learning new vocabulary and concepts about shapes: 2 DIMENSIONAL & 3 DIMENSIONAL SHAPES. 4th graders worked on types of triangles, according to the sides and according to the angles, and they also worked on type of lines (point, line, ray, line segment, parallel lines, perpendicular lines, intersecting lines):

During this first term the 1st graders have discovered how to build differents 2d shapes with a special material: GEOBOARDS. They have enjoyed a lot making circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, and the most difficult shapes, the diamonds, and taking their own pictures.
